"Home is a concept album designed to take you on a voyage away from Earth and into the far reaches of space towards the fringes of the Galaxy.
I have always been passionate about science and astrophysics. One day I came across sonic sample recordings NASA made of each planet in our solar system. I so was amazed to hear each celestial body emitting its own frequency, its own sonic identity and so I decided to delve further into a sort of research and make this the subject of my next album. I decided then to marry science and music, to show the close relation between the two in a study of matter, space time and even the speed of light. To do so, I selected with great care the instruments or groups of instruments I would employ and began a collaboration with multi-instrumentalist Marius Duflot. We than embarked upon the subject and how to translate our research into sound (from timbre to harmony).
It would take us an entire year to determine the kind of sonic universe we would create. Marius built synthesizers and I curated with great attention to detail each sonic element.
Then a second year to write the music which I constructed like a symphony: indissociable movements organized in a logical sequence.
An electro presence is felt strongly throughout this project but I took heed to keep the orchestral aspect central to my classical composition. I was therefore drawn towards a group of instruments that would Allow me to create the material and more precisely Give me air.
The organ, an instrument with which I had fallen in love with four years prior, was therefore my choice as primary the instrument for the album followed by a brass ensemble and a female choir."
